Position: Head of Secondary ICT & Business

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Head of Secondary ICT & Business to join our prestigious international school in Qatar. As the Head of Secondary ICT & Business, you will be responsible for leading and managing the ICT and Business departments within the secondary school, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning is delivered to all students. The ideal candidate will have a UK teaching qualification and experience in a leadership role in a UK secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the ICT and Business departments, ensuring effective teaching and learning is delivered to all students
• Develop and implement the ICT and Business curriculum, in line with the school’s vision and policies
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of teachers within the department, providing support and guidance as needed
• Conduct regular department meetings to discuss curriculum, student progress, and any other relevant issues
• Ensure the effective use of resources within the department, including budget management and procurement of equipment and materials
• Collaborate with other department heads and school leaders to promote a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning
• Communicate regularly with parents and students, providing updates on curriculum, student progress, and any other relevant information
• Participate in school events and activities, including parent-teacher conferences, open days, and school trips
• Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in ICT and Business education, implementing best practices within the department
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a culture of respect and diversity among students and staff
Requirements:
• UK teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in ICT and/or Business in a UK secondary school
• Experience in a leadership role, such as Head of Department or Assistant Headteacher, in a UK secondary school
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK curriculum for ICT and Business
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of teachers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in a multicultural environment
• Commitment to continuous professional development and the ability to implement new teaching strategies and techniques
• Experience working in an international school or with a diverse student population is desirable
• Knowledge of Arabic language and culture is an advantage
