The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Secondary Math to lead our Secondary Math department at our prestigious international school in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified educator with significant experience in teaching Secondary Math, as well as proven leadership skills.

As the Head of Secondary Math, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly qualified and dedicated Math teachers, overseeing the development and implementation of the Math curriculum, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to our students. You will also play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of academic excellence, and supporting the professional growth of our teachers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, manage and mentor a team of Secondary Math teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
- Oversee the development and implementation of the Math curriculum, ensuring alignment with the school's vision and objectives
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Math department, providing regular feedback and implementing strategies for improvement
- Collaborate with other department heads and school leaders to promote a cohesive and integrated approach to teaching and learning
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and analyze student progress and attainment data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions as needed
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including universities and organizations, to support the professional development of teachers and enhance the Math curriculum
- Lead and participate in school-wide initiatives and events, promoting a culture of academic excellence and involvement within the school community
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in Math education and incorporate new ideas and strategies into the curriculum.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field
- UK teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE or equivalent)
- A minimum of 5 years of experience teaching Secondary Math in a UK curriculum school
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Head of Department or similar position
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Mathematics
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think creatively and implement innovative ideas in the teaching and learning of Mathematics
